The daily minimum wage for covered private-sector workers in Central Visayas is set to increase by ₱42 from October 14, 2026.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has affirmed a new wage order issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board VII.
Under the new rates, the daily minimum wage will increase to ₱582 in Class A areas and ₱542 in Class B areas.
| Area classification | New daily minimum wage |
| Class A areas | ₱582 per day, up from ₱540 |
| Class B areas | ₱542 per day, up from ₱500 |
Class A includes Expanded Metro Cebu and other designated locations. Class B covers other areas under the applicable regional classification. Employers should check the official wage order to confirm which rate applies to their establishment and employees.
The Philippines sets minimum wage rates through regional wage orders, so rates and effective dates can differ by location.
For employers and HR teams, this update is a reminder to verify the applicable rate before making payroll adjustments. Check the employee’s work location, the relevant area classification, and the effective date specified in the wage order.
This update covers private-sector workers within the order’s scope. Domestic workers are covered by a separate wage order and should be checked separately.
